In December 2016, shortly after the election of both Donald Trump and Democratic governor Roy Cooper the NC legislature was called into special session by outgoing governor Pat McCrory. The session was called ostensibly to deal with funding to aid those suffering from floods and fires that plagued the state. However, many people suspeected that the real purpose of the session was to limit the power of the incoming governor or stack the courts. What was expected came to pass, but it was met by fierce resistance from activists. We documented those 4 days.
